CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL

The star of this one IS actually Trey Parker who uses the name “Juan Schwartz” for whatever reason. Later, on the South Park Christmas Album, he recorded the song “Dead, Dead, Dead” as Juan Schwartz with the South Park children’s choir.

This is the story of infamous cannibal Alferd (not “Alfred”) Packer and how he had the nerve to eat most of the Democrats he was with. Perhaps Democrats taste better, who knows?

Anyway, Packer and several fellows get trapped in the snowy mountains of Colorado. Eventually, the “real” food runs out and then you know what happened next.

To me one of the funniest scenes in the movie is when they are chowing down on someone around a campfire. Perhaps realizing the horror of what they’re doing, Packer throws up. One of the other stranded travelers there (Matt Stone), holding a piece of meat and with blood on him, says, “Gross, Packer.” It was such a ridiculous scene that it was hard not to laugh at it.

The humor is lowbrow, but what else would you expect? The catchiest song, I think, is “It’s a Shpadoinkel Day”, not that I particularly know what a Shpadoinkel day is, actually.

Giving this one 8 bottles of Pepto-Bismol out of a possible 10.
